520003 - Drivers Education Option 1: Package Deal
Course Description
Our Package Deal for Fall classes is $525 and includes both Classroom Driver Education and Behind-the-Wheel Training which is a $40 savings. Separately, Classroom Driver Education is $100 and Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training is $465. During the classroom portion of the program, certified instructors interact with students using contemporary audio/visual aids, guest speakers and practice test materials from the DMV. During the Behind-Wheel Training portion of the program, students receive 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel instruction with a certified instructor. This class prepares students to get their learner's permit and is required by the DMV. Students must be 15 years old to enroll in the Classroom Driver Education course and 15 1/2 to take Behind the Wheel Training. Classes meet on Saturdays at MiraCosta College in Oceanside. We also offer Monday-Thursday classes during the summer.
*Students must attend the first class. No exceptions. If they miss the 2nd, 3rd or 4th classes, they can make it up the same class they missed during our next session. No refunds are given within 72 hours of the class start date.

Once the student has completed Driver Education, they will receive a certificate to take to the DMV to take their permit test. Once they have passed their permit test students will call 760-231-1221 to schedule their behind the wheel lessons. After the student completes their first behind the wheel lesson, they can begin driving (practicing) with a licensed adult over the age of 25. When the students complete their 6 hours of behind the wheel training, they will receive another certificate that they will need at the DMV to take their driving test. Students need a permit for 6 months before they can apply for their license and take the driving test at the DMV.

Pre-enrollment is required for both Classroom Driver Education and Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training programs. Please enroll online or, if you need assistance, call 760.795.6825 or 760.795.6820 to register over the phone with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card. You are also welcome to come in person to the MiraCosta College Oceanside Campus, Building T510, or TCI Campus in Carlsbad.
