Course Description

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL $79. For bookings made after 7/20, fee will increase to $89. Griffith Observatory is an icon of Los Angeles, a national leader in public astronomy, a beloved civic gathering place and one of southern California’s most popular attractions. The Observatory offers many exhibits on the main level and roof; each focusing on a unique aspect of observation. In the planetarium there is an optional show that you may purchase tickets to see (subject to availability and time constraints). The planetarium show costs $7 for adults and $5 for seniors age 60 and older. If you are so inclined, you might like to enjoy a short hike on some of the trails surrounding the observatory, which offer gorgeous views of the city. There is even a gift shop on the premises for souvenir purchases and a reasonably priced restaurant. You can bring a picnic or have lunch/dinner on your own at the Wolfgang Puck “The Cafe at the End of the Universe” restaurant with its spectacular view of Los Angeles. If the skies are clear, you can utilize the free public telescope, as there are knowledgeable demonstrators to guide visitors observing. Come and enjoy this special summer nighttime visit!
