Course Description

Are you interested in joining the police force or don't want to commit with the Academy yet? Then this program is for you! Police academies have rigorous programs and ONLY select those who have the potential to pass this training. Make sure you are one of them! Find out what it takes to get in and succeed at the police academy. Learn to develop the critical skills and strategies necessary, from law enforcement training officers, to become a future law enforcement officer or other justice related occupation. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

1. Understand the expectations of the law enforcement hiring process and how to optimally prepare as a candidate.
2. Demonstrate comprehension of law enforcement standards of conduct, and adherence to policies and procedures.
3. Recognize and practice appropriate techniques for communicating in a multi-cultural environment through interpersonal skills and communication techniques.
4. Develop strategies and techniques for time management and stress reduction.
5. Demonstrate writing proficiency consistent with the standards of academy report writing requirements.
6. Determine individual fitness deficiency areas related specifically to physical fitness and nutrition while developing lifetime fitness goals.
