Course Description

This course is a comprehensive program designed for individuals who wish to become armed protection officers. This intensive program is 127 hours of classroom and field instruction. Students will receive all course work for a California guard card, exposed weapon permit and a baton permit. In addition, certain students will qualify for a concealed weapon permit from the states of Florida and Utah (you will not be able to carry a concealed weapon in CA). Students will also receive four days of specialized training for those who want anti-terrorism/force protection training. Topics covered in this course include: • 16 hours of mandatory guard card courses • Over 16 hours of elective course work (required within six months of receiving a guard card) • Exposed firearms and CCW instruction • 32 hours of anti-terrorism/force protection training • Resume building and interview advice Upon completion of this course, students will receive the permits and licenses mentioned above, as well as a Certificate of Accomplishment from MiraCosta.
