130002 - Phlebotomy Technician Program
Course Description
MiraCosta College Community Education & Workforce Development, in partnership with HealthCareerU (formerly PhlebotomyU), is proud to offer this excellent opportunity for those seeking to enter the medical field as CPT1 phlebotomy technicians.
Students must successfully complete:
• A minimum of 20 hours of basic didactic instruction
• A minimum of 20 hours of advanced didactic instruction
• A minimum of 40–53 hours of in-classroom phlebotomy skills training
• 40–120 hours of clinical externship at an approved partner site arranged by HealthCareerU
• The national phlebotomy certification exam offered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), which will be administered during one of the class days. Students who pass the course will also be eligible to take the certification examination offered by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) in class at the conclusion of the course. Upon successfully completing the course, students will receive a state-approved certificate of completion
Notes
Note: A $150 California CPT1 license application fee, BLS certification and all immunizations are not included in the tuition fee and must be paid by the student. Proof of at least a U.S. high school diploma or equivalent required. Must provide a copy of educational transcript (official or unofficial copies accepted).
$2,750 + $129 national examination fee + $110 background check and drug screen fee.
