520001 - Drivers Education Option 2: Classroom Only
Course Description
Certified instructors interact with students using contemporary audio/visual aids, guest speakers and practice test materials from the DMV Handbook. This class prepares students to get their learner's permit and is required by the DMV. Students must be 15 years old to enroll in the Classroom Driver Education course. Classes meet on Saturdays at MiraCosta College in Oceanside. We also offer Monday-Thursday classes during the summer.
*Students must attend the first class. No exceptions. If they miss the 2nd, 3rd or 4th classes, they can make it up the same class they missed during our next session. No refunds are given within 72 hours of the class start date.
Notes
Students aged 15 years to 17 1/2 must take in-class or on-line Driver Education before they can apply for their permit at the DMV. Once the students complete classroom or online Driver Education they will get a certificate of completion to take to the DMV when they take their permit test. Once students have their permit, they can call our driving school at 760-231-1221 to schedule and pay for their behind the wheel lessons. 6 hours of behind the wheel lessons from a licensed driving school is required before a student can get their driver license. Students must have their permit for 6 months before they can apply for license and take the driving test at the DMV. Prerequisites
Pre-enrollment is required for both Classroom Driver Education and Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training programs. Please enroll online or, if you need assistance, call 760.795.6825 or 760.795.6820 to register over the phone with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card. You are also welcome to come in person to the MiraCosta College Oceanside Campus, Building T510, or TCI Campus in Carlsbad.
