Course Description

A hands-on study of PLC programming and logic design using Siemens TIA S7-1200 hardware/software, as well as ladder logic based on a RS Logix 500 emulator. Topics covered during this 30-hour course are hardware components and software interfacing with the PLC, ladder logic using switches, timers and counters, arithmetic operations, MOV operators, logic functions, shift registers and subroutines. Three simulated design projects will be assigned throughout the course. By the end of the course students will be familiar with ladder logic programming and interfacing with PLC controllers, as well as design methodologies for PLC programming.
