Course Description

Explore the allure and wonder of the “uncommon and unspoiled”  Anza-Borrego Desert. Come with us on an inspiring day trip where we will be greeted by the vibrant oranges, blues, reds, pinks and yellows of the monkey flower, sand verbena, desert pincushion, desert dandelions and blooming barrel cacti, just to name a few. Let out your inner artist and bring your camera or colored pencils and sketch book to capture the desert's beauty. Along the way, be on the lookout for massive, freestanding sculptures. Once at the reserve, plan to take a walk for glimpses of local flora and fauna up close. A stop at the Borrego Springs Visitor Center and Museum is on our agenda where you will find some interesting and informative exhibits, as well as a fully stocked bookstore. On our way back to Oceanside, we will be visiting the historic mining town and mountain getaway of Julian. Here you can step back in time to the days of Julian’s beginnings rooted in the 1870s gold rush. In this charming and rustic town, there will be an opportunity to have a well-deserved, delicious meal and famous apple pie at one of the local eateries (a no host lunch).

Bus Etiquette • Seating arrangements on the bus will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those who have difficulty sitting at the rear of the bus are advised to arrive early. • No smoking is permitted on the bus. • The bus will depart on time.
