Course Description

Explore the allure and wonder of the wildflowers of the “uncommon and unspoiled” Anza-Borrego Desert. Come with us on an inspiring day trip where we will be greeted with the vibrant oranges, blues, reds, pinks and yellows of monkey flower, sand verbena, desert pincushion, desert dandelions and blooming barrel caucti, just to name a few. Let out your inner artist and bring your camera or colored pencils to capture the desert beauty. Take a short walk through the reserve and enjoy glimpses of local flora and fauna. Be amazed at the beauty of the desert in the spring. Don’t forget your hat, comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. On our return from nature’s charm, we will stop in the historic mining town and mountain getaway of Julian. Here you can step back in time to the days of Julian’s beginnings rooted in the 1870s gold rush. In this charming and cozy town you can have a well-deserved, delicious meal at one of the local eateries like Jeremy’s on the Hill, California Bistro or Bailey’s Woodpit Barbecue, and finish off with some Julian famous apple pie. No host lunch.
