910001 - Electronics Technician Certificate ProgramĀ - ONLINE
Course Description
The Electronics (ET) program covers the fundamentals of electronics and prepares the graduate for employment and/or further on-the-job training as a consumer, commercial or industrial electronics service technician. It focuses on the skills needed to assemble, install, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment. Students learn electronics theory and how to work with circuits and the various components of electronic systems such as capacitors, resistors, semiconductors and amplifiers.
This is a Distance Education program in which you complete all courses (modules) by studying at home, with an interactive learning package on a personal computer. Laboratory projects and exercises are also carried out in this way. The learning materials, provided in a downloadable file format, with 24 courses (modules) contains text, audio, 2D and 3D animations, computer-based testing and CircuitLogix and 3DLab simulation software.
One of the main learning features of the ET program is the complete integration of laboratory experiments and projects within the presentation of the electronics theory. This is accomplished through the introduction of circuit simulation software that simulates the behavior of electronic circuits. Students who enroll in the program receive a licensed copy of CircuitLogix Pro, a leading commercially available simulator that includes both 2D- and 3D-circuit simulation tools.
You may enrol at any time during the year (open enrolment) and complete the modules in the learning package at your own speed. Typical completion time is 32 weeks, but there are no time limits.
