Basic Supplies List

  • Sketchbook-9x12 Either filled with mixed-media or watercolor paper (Canson XL Mix media, Master's Touch mixed media from Hobby Lobby, Aquabee and Vision Watercolor sketchbooks are all good. Make sure the paper says 90 lb or higher.)
  • #6 round watercolor paint brush
  • HB pencil
  • soft white or kneaded eraser
  • Watercolor paints-* If you already have paints you like to use, don’t go out and buy my suggested colors, bring your paints to class and whatever brushes you like to use.
  • Buy Cotman Sketcher's box or Cotman brand if you are on a budget. Otherwise buy artist quality brands like Daniel Smith, Winsor Newton, DaVinci, etc.
  • Paint colors- Permanent rose, lemon yellow, sap green,thalo blue, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna and yellow ochre.
  • palette with room for mixing colors and a palette with a lid is good or you can use a china plate
  • toilet paper
  • a kitchen sponge or a clean old wash or dish rag
  • a ruler
  • scissors
